An Evening with Asma Khan

For a curated dining experience for chef Asma Khan, Oiendrila Ray Kapur led the art direction and spatial styling - designing an environment that complemented the warmth and generosity of the meal.

The table was built around a balance of refinement and ease. Silver serveware, soft linens, and fresh florals came together in a palette of deep blues, ivories, and vivid pinks - creating a setting that felt rich but not excessive.

Every detail was considered at a human scale - how a napkin is picked up, how a centrepiece sits across a conversation, how light falls on the table as the evening progresses. The florals were kept low and abundant, allowing the table to feel alive without interrupting the experience of dining.

Beyond the table, the space extended into relaxed seating and layered textures - bringing a sense of continuity to the evening rather than confining it to a single setup.
Oiendrila’s role was to shape the overall experience - ensuring that the space held the same intimacy, generosity, and attention to detail as the food it was designed for.
