Aakar x Design Cultures Table

A table that begins with instinct.

Created for Design Cultures in association with Aakar and Raw Collaborative, this work draws from Oiendrila’s own cultural memory - bringing together materials and crafts that have long existed in the background, and placing them at the centre.
Clay birds from Krishnanagar lead the composition, carrying with them a quiet legacy of skill. Around them, shola, shaal leaves, branches, and brass unfold in layers - grounded by a deep plum Jamdani saree that anchors the table with both richness and familiarity.

The intention was to interpret a forgotten birdsong - soft, layered, joyful and alive with memory.
