Yule Table
As the season gently transitions into winter, nature paints itself in the warm, earthy tones of fall — rust-coloured leaves, crisp air, and the much-awaited arrival of bhutta season. There is something deeply nostalgic about roasting corn on the cob, finished with a generous sprinkling of spices, and it became the starting point of my inspiration for this first table.
Corn took centre stage, acting as the soul of the table. Around it, I layered seasonal produce like custard apples and broccoli, celebrating what winter quietly brings with it. To add texture and a subtle pop of colour, I discovered some interesting dried fruit seeds, which I cleaned and hand-coloured in rich rust tones. Cane cones, painted a cheerful yellow, were added to create contrast and visual interest. Completing the look were flowers that followed the same warm colour story, allowing fruits, vegetables, and florals to come together in a way that felt organic yet thoughtfully styled. The result was a table that felt rooted in the season — unique, tactile, and full of life.
